DRESDEN
A city with the wow factor
Whether it’s the Residenzschloss, Semperoper or Zwinger, Frauen- or Hofkirche: Dresden’s world-famous buildings, art collections and cultural sites are really impressive. In the historic Old Town, which contains Baroque elements, and which has largely been rebuilt, one of Germany’s oldest and most well-known Christmas Market also takes place in the Striezelmarkt. Furthermore, Dresden, which is perched beautifully in the Elbe Valley, is regarded as one of Europe’s greenest cities. So it’s no wonder that hundreds of thousands of visitors are drawn to ‘Florence on the Elbe’ year after year.
Approx. 550,000 people live here today, and the former seat of royal power is still the centre of political life in Saxony. The state government, legislative assembly and various state authorities are based in the state capital. The renowned Technische Universität (University of Technology), Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (Technology and Economics College) and Hochschulen für Bildende Künste und Musik (Fine Arts and Music Colleges) can be found here. As Dresden is not just an important economic centre in the region, it’s also an internationally recognised hub for research and innovation – with IT and nanoelectronics leading the way.
What about the surrounding area? That’s also a big hit! With the Saxon Elbeland, Saxon Switzerland or the Ore Mountain Range, it offers extraordinary natural landscapes and complete relaxation.
CENTRE OF THE HISTORIC OLD TOWN
A haven for art, culture and shopping
Living in the centre of Dresden’s historic Old Town means being right in the thick of it! West of the Elbe, between the Terrassenufer, Post Office and Town Hall, there’s much more than just the famous landmarks and cultural sites. The main shopping areas are here – with malls and shops, as well as a multitude of designer and brand boutiques. There are lots of hotels in this important tourist area of Dresden, and the food on offer is of the highest quality. In the summer, the International Dixieland Festival or the Dresdner Stadtfest liven things up, and they’re right on your doorstep.
Due to Dresden’s colourful history, grand and historical buildings combine with newer architecture, which is a captivating mix. The New Town, situated on the other side of the Elbe, can also be quickly accessed via the Augustus- or Carolabrücke. And the leisure activities are also not to be missed here. The Elbufer is a great place to have a stroll, and the secluded green spaces around the Zwingerteich or in the Brühlscher Garten offer respite from the hustle and bustle.
AREA AND CONNECTIONS
Right in the thick of things
Being in the thick of it means: Everything is really easily to get to, and you can walk to most of it! The Altmarkt-Galerie is in the immediate vicinity to ALTMARKT EMPOREN, which is a modern mall with around 200 shops and restaurants. Supermarkets, discount shops, bakeries and pharmacies can be found close by. The centre of the Old Town is also really well connected to public transport with 20 bus and tram stops. Postplatz or Pirnaischer Platz are important transport hubs. You can also get to Dresden Hauptbahnhof, with its regional and long-distance connections, in just a few minutes.

Urban living taken to a whole new level
Urban, modern, compact – this is what ALTMARKT EMPOREN looks like from the outside. You are part of a new residential and commercial complex on the site of the former Bastion Merkur. With its structure using large blocks, which is typical of the surrounding area, its functional façade design and elegant colour scheme blends into the inner-city space beautifully, which links the historic with the new architecture in a specific way in this part of Dresden. On nearly 8,500 square metres, the building offers 117 1- to 5-bedroom apartments for the highest specifications.
The impression from inside is surprising. Most of the apartments look out over the interior courtyard, which is designed to look like terraces. This elaborately landscaped, leafy plateau takes inner-city living to a whole new level – and the balconies and terraces are unique oases of calm. The apartments are split onto seven upper floors and each of them can be accessed via five stairwells, as well as with the lift, if wheelchair access is required. There is a wide range of shopping facilities on offer for tenants on the ground floor of ALTMARKT EMPOREN. Additionally, there are 100 parking spaces available for rent in the on-site underground car park.

Here, your dream living space becomes a reality
With versatile floor plans and top specifications, the 1 to 5-room apartments in ALTMARKT EMPOREN can be a dream home in lots of different ways. Modern city singles and couples can reach their full potential here. Residential communities and families who enjoy living in the inner city feel at home in the large apartments. Some of the apartments have been designed so they are wheelchair-accessible, and impress everyone with a terrace, a loggia or a balcony. Floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors let lots of light in, but keep the hustle and bustle out. External electric blinds offer additional protection.
All rooms have an underfloor heating system that gives off cosy heat and makes radiators redundant. The high-quality oak parquet flooring in the living areas and corridors creates an ambience that is stylish and relaxing. The toilets and baths also impress with a contemporary, elegant look. Dark floor tiles blend in with modern, white wall tiles, fixtures and fittings – such as recessed cisterns or flat shower tubs. There is also a washing machine connection in each bathroom. But what’s really practical is the tastefully fitted kitchen, which is already built in every flat.
